The client

The European arm of Bank of America.

The project
Bank of America, building their European platform, wished to develop a European competency framework and selection process for their relatively new campus recruitment programme.

The partnership

Graduate Solutions worked with existing materials and the in-house team to formulate a new, streamlined competency framework for use during the recruitment and the evaluation process. This included the production of all interview report forms, competency question guidelines and interviewer guides. Bank of America also wished to train their Associate and senior Analyst cadre in interview skills - ahead of the campus recruitment season. All of these relatively recent joiners to the firm were going to be involved in hiring the classes of future years. The HR team wished to ensure that they were skilled in best practice, competency based questioning techniques and aware of legislative and diversity issues.

Graduate Solutions delivered a bespoke 'short and sharp' interview skills workshop lasting 3.5 hours, which not only delivered the theory but brought in 'interview practice' in the form of students from London universities, who acted as live 'guinea pigs'.  10 sessions were delivered, training a total of 90 bankers.

In addition we carried out an Age Legislation review in order to ensure that Bank of America was compliant with the new Age Legislation criteria. The review covered all marketing materials, campus strategy and interview and selection tools.
